IndigoHomes, in collaboration with the National Blood Service of Ghana, hosted a remarkable blood donation drive to commemorate World Blood Donor Day. The event was held on 23 June 2023, at OyarifaPark’s plush 2-acre central park. Guided by the 2023 World Blood Donation Day theme "Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often," the event aimed to address Ghana's urgent need for an increased supply of safe blood as well as to raise awareness, and promote blood donation among IndigoHomes' employees, residents, corporate partners, and the Oyarifa community.

OyarifaPark is the second residential development by IndigoHomes after the successful completion of AyimensahPark. The award-winning project is 85% sold and will be completed in early 2024.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation drawn from the OyarifaPark homeowners and residents, IndigoHomes staff members, as well as staff from LuccaHealth, First National Bank, Broll Ghana, De-Geons Investment Limited, and Dalleytex Furniture.

The blood donation exercise was coordinated and conducted by National Blood Services. Speaking at the event, the organizations’ PRO Mr Stephen Addai-Baah stated that the nation requires 300,000 voluntary blood donors to meet its blood needs. In 2022, Ghana collected blood from 179,000 donors, of which only 45,000 were voluntary donors. This means that only 25% of the required voluntary donations were received.

Anne Murungi, Commercial Director of IndigoHomes expressed gratitude to all individuals who volunteered and donated blood, as well as companies who organized their staff members to join in the campaign. “This event has been made possible by your selfless giving, and your donation will help to save a life. IndigoHomes not only build residential properties, but we are keen to make an impact in the communities and the countries we are in. That is why, beyond transferring knowledge and skills to the locals through training, we have come together with the National Blood Service, and through the great hearts of the people present today at the drive.”

As a proud supporter of this life-saving initiative, IndigoHomes recognizes the importance of facilitating events like these to aid in collecting blood, to help save lives by providing blood to those facing medical emergencies.
