Nkrumah was in the interest of our welfare but because Busia, Danquah and others were trying to kill him like a wild cat he had to build his defense hence, the building of that prison. Danquah started by serving the CIA as informant by sending reports on Nkrumah. Busia, from London, connected with the same CIA in planning to overthrow the CPP regime. These were the very people who hired Amatewe to shoot Nkrumah in front of Flagstaff house but could not kill him. they further threw a bomb at him in Kunungugu. There were many other attempts on his life. Why would he not guard himself? When Afrifa & Kotoka were hired by that same group to overthrow Nkrumah, soldiers went round just to beat anyone found with a picture of Nkrumah. That is when and how our freedom was confiscated. We lost our freedom to a group of selfish people whose only aim was to get a chance to enrich themselves out of state coffers.

Even here in the United States there's a raging debate about fact that the current democratic status quo will not last more than a hundred years n we're here crucifying NKRUMAH who was hundred light years ahead of his time. The Malaysias, Koreas, Singapores, Chinas n even the United States as well as other established democracies started as one party states. It's the only way u can develop a nation. Nkrumah could have been a good leader but was driven by his insatiable quest for a hegemony over Africa, making him do destestable things beyond Ghana bounds. His dictatorial character was toxic, and for him to imprison the very persons who brought him to Ghana because he was intoxicated by power as well as squandering the resources bequeathed to the country on some phony liberation wars outside was his undoing. The PDA, amongst other stupid things made him a dictator. So if a president circumvents democracy and turns it into a one-party state, what does it mean??? Perhaps Ghana would have been better off not gaining independence at all.

When Kuffour's master Busia took over,they dismantled everything within 2yrs to the extent of sacking, even, Civil Servants who were in employment 20 yrs before Nkrumah came to power, and yet Busia sacked them as Nkrumaists, and also under the cloak of redundancy, sacked most of the workers working in the factories and government departments, just as they are doing now! Now Nkrumah is gone; whether he was a wicked man, or a dictator, he is gone. Why all the fuse? Kuffour and Rawlings should show us Nkrumah's car or house.
