The name of this outfit is deceptive, because it creates the impression that it's some sort of independent think tank, until one begins to read the article. After a few paragraphs, it quickly becomes clear, that it's a unit of the NDC which is attempting to camouflage it's support for the candidacy of John Mahama for the flag bearer position of the NDC in 2020, by appearing to be an objective and independent body. A scroll down to the foot of the article, to the names of the writers, removes all doubt about the objective of this outfit. It will not come as a surprise to learn that the body is funded by Mahama. Read how at the beginning of the article they agree with the section of the NDC that argues that Mahama is the best bet for success for the party in 2020, and you will know where they are coming from. In politics, one should never say never, and therefore, the possibility of the NDC returning to power in future cannot be ruled out. But should that come about only with a flag bearer from the North - again? Upon what record will Mahama be campaigning, since his record failed him in 2016? Does the NDC have a suicide wish?
