You don't know what a "Conflict of Interest" is, if you did you wouldn't make such a sorry justification. So keep quiet, do your research and address the concerns the patriotic Ghanaian has raised in his piece.

God created man with brain to reason and take correct decisions but it seems Ghanaians are bereft of thinking capacities as human beings. Addison committee told The Ameri company to come to Ghana to answer some questions pertaining to their contract with the Ghana government and also explain some points of the contract. The government was not prepared to spend more money on the bad contract. Ameri decided to pay for them to come and ask the questions, they did not have the time to come down to Ghana. Should they have refused to accept the offer or should we believe that the questions for Ameri were changed because they pay for the journey?

Was there the need at all cost for AMERI to come down to Ghana for questioning? Was there the need for the Addison Committee to travel to wherever at all cost to question AMERI? So where do we place ICT? With technology - video conferencing etc... The committee forgot the national interest they were pursuing and considered their selfish interests. Hence all this confusion. How many of the committee members have ever travelled to Dubai on their own ticket? Ghanaians, please none of us should ever think that a politician will struggle for political power because he/she loves Ghana more than you do. In conflict of interest, even if there is an issue of a seeming nature, you cannot run away from it, it is conflict of interest. It does not need to be direct.

Addison is a legal lightweight and his only recourse to fame is his bull like stupid bravado where he barks and shows disrespect to anybody who crosses his path when he wants his way. That was why he was picked, though a far junior and inexperience lawyer to lead the team of lawyers who represented the npp, as the lead counsel.
He will fail to invoke fraudulent misrepresentation in equity and even statue at this late hour to renegotiate a contract that was dully signed and entered by the government of the day. That contract is binding and the argument that the company had no requisite qualification is a non starter since capital is what is the criteria these days and if they have the capital to finance a project with interest, that is acceptable.
If there had been tendering flaws then the then government must be held accountable and not the contractors. For my take this is just to create something for Addison to do because as an idle hand he could be dangerous to the government since he knows too much, you just ask how to destroyed Osu Klottey npp.
The Maxims of equity will not do him any favor since Equity will not allow a statute to be used as a cloak for fraud. In the Woyome case our sc allowed emotions and public opinion to twist the law when in fact equity prevents a party from relying upon an absence of a statutory formality if to do so would be unconscionable and unfair.

It is very hard to imagine that some Ghanaians do not still understand english well. After all the explanations given by a re-negotiation team, some detractors are still questioning Mr Addison. What about the very thieves who negotiated the contract in the first place. Somebody is mopping up the dirty work of NDC and he becomes a mudslinging target instead of that idiot Kwabena Donkor whose sleazy ways put millions into his/NDc pockets. So the person who is working to save millions for Ghana is now the hatchet target of NDC minions, right? Think right and abstain from such insanity. Read Imani's report and stop the nonsense of micro-managed slander.

Are Ghanaians confused as to where to vent their spleen on this saga? The thief Dr? Kwabena Donkor who is the very embodiment of "corruption", taking a slice of this whole contract sum by some pseudo clause that ripped Ghana off over $100m should be the poodle to splash and not Addison. What has Addison done wrong? Going to Dubai to renegotiate contract as mandated by the president? The NDC, by their very character perceive others to be the same and are, therefore, casting aspersions and throwing spanners in the works of the guy to make him look bad even before his work got finished. Ghanaians should just look at the bottom line and read the Imani report to know the evil deeds of NDC and its mob.

I read the IMANI Report but I support the writer 100% and think those of your criticising him are senseless and don't mean any good for Ghana. Did he prove that there was conflict of interest or not, the subject of his article. Of course, he did! That's what matters here.
Now, what is happening here? Let's presume that there was indeed false misrepresentation and some fraud was committed. The writer spelt out very well the options opened to the Govt: accept it and seek damages or abrogate it. Rather, we see some mickey mouse attempts to right the presumed wrong, with govt officials tasked to handle the issue caught accepting largesse from AMERI.
As such transnational organisations behaviour, they started seeing people to lobby for them. Emmanuel Agyarko has just confessed that he was one such person. Do you think his palms were not greased? You don't send someone to lobby for you for free! So what is happening is two-fold: the situation has created an opportunity for the NPP honchos to feather their nests (the paid for trip is just one such goodies under the guise of "negotiation") and score political capital against the NDC. The Addison Report simply reflect that: put pressure on AMERI to dole out something under the table to them and make some concessions like on the variable rate which was fixed, and then put the NDC in a bad light. Ghana, of course, won't see any $150m off the contract and so Ghanaian tax payers shall be the losers.

You can look at the trip to Dubai by the Addison fact finding committee as 'conflict of interest' but in reality ,it is not. The AMERI Power deal is an International matter. They refused to come to Ghana ,they refused to meet us in London and by the circumstance they had to foot the full costs of our trip .Read Documents on International Business Transactions .If they can't come to Ghana where the contract was signed or meet in a neutral country, they are liable, simple. If you owe me and am compelled to travel to your village to collect what belongs to me,you don't expect me to pay for the food, water and accommodation you offer me.Ofcourse l could as well claim my transport costs from you.If you don't know this International and Village Agreement, ask Satan. He knows all the laws on fraud.

Can a contract that has gone through cabinet scrutiny and gotten parliamentary approval be said to be fraudulent?
Who then is responsible for the case of fraud?
Is it the ENERGY MINISTER, CABINET or PARLIAMENT
If indeed a case of fraud is established, can anybody take Parliament to court?
Is it the same Parliament that approved the contract that set up the committee to "investigate" or "negotiate"?
Because for a contract that has parliamentary approval it's only Parliament that can alter it.
