It is unacceptable! We don't seem to want to move away from the behavior of the Colonial era where Government Officials were simply doled upon and worshiped as tin-gods. We were angry that the least significant Officer of the Colonial Administration enjoyed a royal treatment everywhere they went. We complained they were feeding off what we owned.
Well, we are allowing our own native leaders do the same thing, treating us as ignorant fools and servants who only have to produce to support their luxurious lifestyle, and help them get richer while we languish in abject poverty.
That cannibalistic Capitalism must stop now! It is no surprising some among these kleptocrats embraced the vain, unnecessarily emphasized tautological "Property Owning Democracy" that was shoved down our throats by the previous NPP Administration. We are tired of being used, taken advantage of, and cheated by every new Government that comes to Power. These Government Officials think they should certainly leave their jobs, upon losing power, much wealthier than before coming into power. Politics to them a fodder field to enrich themselves in, at all cost.
Many of them squander their wealth on flimsy crap when all seem quiet with their Administrations, thinking they would always retain power. Then, when the tide suddenly changes for a new Government to come into power, the incumbent Officials scramble to loot everything they can lay their dirty hands on to make their personal property at the expense of the Nation before leaving the scene.
This is the reason why the Assets Declaration prior to assuming a Public Office is imperative, and the Freedom of Information Act must be passed as soon as possible.
So, long as we don't have these two Laws in place and fully implemented, we will continue to incur such massive losses through theft by these kleptocrats.
All stolen vehicles and other properties, including Land and Buildings, must be retrieved promptly and the offenders appropriately processed for prosecution.
Meanwhile, operatives of the in-coming NPP Regime must not go around confiscating and stealing stuff and blame them all on the exiting NDC Administration, either. We must also vet anyone who suddenly comes to own a car, ostensibly, from among the seized ones, while he or she cannot even show an employment record to justify any such acquisition.

A poor country like Ghana wasting hard-earned foreign exchange to import these luxurious vehicles for wasteful usage by govt officials. Why? Why? Hospitals under-resourced, dilapidated school buildings, filth and garbage lining our streets, citizens not able to afford the basic necessities of life, crime on the rise, etc., etc., And the government's priority is providing luxury vehicles to greedy politicians? Ghanaians must really really force their politicians to be accountable. They are there to serve and not to steal from the ordinary people.
