The NDC national campaign coordinator, Mr. Adamu Kotokoli, could be blamed partially for the humiliating defeat of the party, in which "the NPP trashed the ruling party by about one million votes and also won majority of the parliamentary seats", as a result of Mr. Kotokoli's incompetence and the incompetence and corruption of Mr. Mahama himself and that of the "babies with sharp teeth' he appointed.
However, the real reason for the party's "painful defeat" is their undemocratic ways that have largely been exposed by the NPP party, and was able to block most of the channels NDC had been using to rig the elections. The world has changed so much and NDC must also change with it, and not continue to rely on rigged elections to rule Ghanaians

One thing to be remembered it that the NDC had been in power for 8yrs and people were fed-up and also the DKM fiasco was a problem. Let's re-organise and stop this blame game.

It's combination of factors not only loosing touch with the grassroots supporters,the economy was too bad on all fronts,importers and exporters were all crying,the exchange rates,utility bills,fuel prices,corruption and corruption oh my God.Ndc had no business deciding for us which area is our priority,you can't choose infrastructure over bread and butter issues,look people re going to bed on an empty stomach and above all see the opulence among ministers and few party people.Woyome and the way government officials defending him,including the president himself it made people very angry because Woyome appeared as someone untouchable,so now that there's a change let see if the Attoney General would drag their feet again to stop an oral examination by Mr Martin Amidu.Ndc at a point was thinking all Ghanaians were stupid as there were by defending anything under the sun.

Too many scandals, too much corruption, too much complacency, too much interference from his wife and family. It was a terrible Presidency by all accounts and Mahama is a poor leader. Ndc needs a new flagbearer.

Economic hardship occasioned by heavy utility and fuel taxes imposed at the beginning of the electoral year at the instance of IMF and World Bank was a potent recipe for electoral disaster. This was not helped by joblessness and the withdrawal of the nursing and teacher training allowances.
The timing of the intervention by the Bretton-Woods institutions could hardly have been worse.
The IMF and World Bank have succeeded in enforcing regime change in our country.
