It bears stating quite clearly, the things John Dramani Mahama sought to project on the NPP is actually what has played out between the NDC and the new NDP party led by a Co-Founder of the NDC party and the wife of the Founder of same, and also the longest serving first lady of Ghana.
It will be recalled goons were sent to her residence where dangerous weapons were brandished and serious threats made on her life because of her outspoken candor with respect to the wrong direction in which Ghana was headed under John Dramani Mahama, which by the way 7 out of 10 Ghanaians agree with.
It defies credulity when John Dramani Mahama with such a record seeks to venture into such a minefield of politicking, when it is clear he would be the first casualty.
Indeed, the issues he sought to deflect and project on the NPP has gotten so worse under him and actually gained so much ascendancy under his direction and active support and engagement that, Ghana's enviable democratic credentials have suffered a huge deficit with the actions, conduct and plans as rolled out by the Montie 3 agents of anarchy, rape, violence, killings and murder. What makes it even churlish to the point of depravity is the whole NDC apparatus from John Mahama, the Presidency, the Executive through to the party support the plans, actions and conduct of the Montie 3 through a petition ostensibly to release the anarchists and purveyors of mayhem, insults, bloodshed, rape, killings and murder into the streets of Ghana because of the very things John Dramani Mahama was heard accusing the NPP of, being intolerance, physical and violent harm, insults etc, etc.
Clearly the discordance, the schism between the reality of the NDC situation, which has unfurled within their party in the classic case of the NDP and has found expression on the national stage captured by the Montie 3 saga, where the tenets and the principles of the rule of law underpinning and has undergirded our democracy for over 2 decades is hugely under threat speaks to a profound level of cognitive dissonance on the part of John Dramani Mahama to be described as unhealthy, dangerous and wickedly striking and at the same time, very sad. Why do qe say this? We say this because it can only stem from a place of deep, spectacular desperation on the part of John Dramani Mahama and in this regard, the Emperor is truly, truly naked and it is legendary. Could it be perhaps nobody is telling the Emperor because of the fear of grevious harm of various forms, as promised by the NDC party, the NDC gov't, the Presidency and John Dramani Mahama on the Chief Justice, High Court Judges, the rule of law and ultimately our democracy in this country?
Let's be very clear without any ambiguity whatsoever that the John Dramani Mahama NDC gov't is by far the worst and the most unattractive political organization in contemporary Ghanaian politics, and as the party prepares to settle into opposition, they have a long, hard and arduous task ahead of them to claw back any semblance of responsibility, dignity and reasonableness to even begin to attract any fair-minded, well-meaning and right-thinking Ghanaian to that party and Ghanaians wish them all the luck they can get, because under the failed, inconsequential leadership and Presidency of John Dramani Mahama, the NDC party will need hefty doses of it.
