One-district one-factory is not Nana Addo’s bona fide property - Kofi Adams

The one-district one-factory policy of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo -Addo has been challenged by the National Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams.

The challenge of Kofi Adams has nothing to do with the existing outcry of NDC officials that it is not possible to implement, but his challenge is based on the fact that the one-district one-factory policy is not Nana Akufo-Addo’s bona fide policy.

Explaining on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Kofi Adams revealed that the supposed Nana Addo’s one-district one-factory is an idea created in the era of former President Jerry John Rawlings when Ambassador Dan Agbodakpi brought the proposal.

He maintained that during that era, over 100 districts were identified with raw materials to kick-start the project.

He was of the view that policy has already started under President John Dramani Mahama, identifying districts with factories which need revival as Komenda Sugar Factory is a typical example.

“ . . that one-district one-factory policy of Nana Addo is not his bona fide property; it started from Rawling's era as Ambassador Dan Agbodakpi brought up that idea . . . there are documents to prove this that it started from Rawling's era,” he challenged.

He however posited that Nana Akufo-Addo’s One-district One-factory idea came about when he (Nana Addo) saw the commissioning of the Komenda Sugar Factory by President Mahama.

He insisted that Nana Akufo-Addo’s campaign message has until the commissioning of the Komenda Sugar Factory by President Mahama been ‘try me also’, without clear policy he intends to champion for Ghanaians.

He therefore described Nana Akufo-Addo’s policies as pair-trawling which are picked from the Constitution and also stolen from people without acknowledging the originality of his policies.
