I want to digress because I have some other important contribution to make than the useless comments by Nyaho
Character they say is like pregnancy which cannot be hidden forever. At the right time God Himself exposes us for who we are. Some of us have been vindicated on the belief we hold about the character of the person we are calling the President of Ghana.
I knew JM when he used to operate account with one of the state banks in the nineties when he was working with the Japanese Embassy. He had a child with the sister of a colleague in the same office who was living at Dansoman.
I began to look closely at President Mahama from afar after he became president, taking over the reigns of Government from the late President Mills. I tried very hard to analyze the circumstances leading to the death of Professor Millsand after convincing myself the Professor was assassinated, my respect and acceptance of President Mahama diminished immediately.
President Mahama will continue to make plunders because his presidency has not been accepted by God as against what have been said by some gullible pastors and chieves in this country. I believe there is no nobody who can tell the mind of God even Jesus could not do it.
What is the substantive issue? There are two issues but I will limit myself to one for the time being. The issues are about some comments made by the President in the Volta Region recently on his campaign but termed ‘’Accounting to the People’’: That he could not deliver due to the Election Petition and his request for a second term citing the two terms of PRESIDENTS RAWLINGS AND KUFUOR as the basis. I will discuss the latter.
President Mahama made reference to the 1992 Constitution by giving his own interpretation to Article 66. I will limit myself to the relevant clauses which are germane to our discussion:
1. A person elected as President shall, subject to CLAUSE 3 of this article, hold office for a term of FOUR YEARS beginning from the date on which he is sworn in as President
2. A person shall not be elected to hold office as President of Ghana for MORE THAN TWO TERMS
3. The office of President shall become VACANT-
a) On the EXPIRATION of the period specified in CLAUSE (1) of this article.
The words in block letters are very critical and my discussion will dwell on them as well as the whole sentence as usual.
Can readers see through the lies and dishonesty of the President in the presentation to the people of the Volta Region? He cannot do this if his audience isthe elites and intellectuals. This is the reason why I have advised the minority parties especially the NPP to pitch camp in areas where our people are very vulnerable and to explain matters breaking it down to the level of their understanding. I wish the minority parties will stand at the same place the President lied to the people in this case and explain the truth to them to appreciate what it is.
We have read the attempts by sitting presidents in other jurisdictions to extend their presidency beyond the legally mandated periods to enable them hold on to power. What Clause 2 of Article 66 seeks to portray is to put a cap on the period a person can be President. It is not a guarantee to Presidents to stay in power for two terms. What the Constitution guarantees is the initial four years of presidency.After these four years which has been under scored by clause 1, the office of the presidency becomes vacant also under scored by clause 3a. The second term for any President must be granted by the electorates based on the performance or otherwise which is decided by the people.
The reference to Presidents Rawlings and Kufuor as enjoying eight years each was meant to mislead the people gathered listening to him and I believe some also believed it because we don’t read so we are ignorant. They say if you want to hide something from the African, put it into a book. And the Bible quotes God as saying that His people are perishing because of lack of knowledge.
All the previous Presidents got their second term based on good performance during their first term in office. I recalled Lawyer Ace Ankomah say that President Kufour’s first term in office was good but the second term was very horrible. That is expected because President Kufuor knows to get a re-election for a second term, he had to work hard in his first term. There is no opportunity of him getting a third term so he could mess up in his second term.
The same thing happened under President Rawlings; that was part of the reason Professor Mills could not get the mandate during his attempt the first time. Even though one could also cite the position that the people of Ghana were tired with having the same group of people managing the country from the PNDC to NDC One.
President Mahama must pay for his WICKEDNESS, INCOMPETENCE and CORRUPTION for the way this country has been managed. He deliberately stifled the private sector of wealth which he knows is friendly to the NPP by delaying the fixing ofthe ELECTRICITY PROBLEM, HIGH INTEREST RATE, HIGH INFLATION and HIGH and UNSTABLE EXCHANGE RATE. These are factors which militate against a thriving private sector.The high cost of living in the country has been caused by the mal handling of these economic indicators. He and the NDC had in mind to rig the elections rather than providing good economic condition for the people. Rigging is their last resort hence their league with the ELECTORAL COMMISSION to give them an electoral advantage in the bloated Voters Register which they are largely responsible for, anyway.
Two terms of presidency is not a guarantee for any President as stated in the 1992 Constitution. Otherwise he could as well continue without organizing any election this year. Re-election is a reward from the people to a President for a hard work. The CORRUPTION, MISMANAGEMENT, INCOMPETENCE, ASSASSINATION OF LATE PRESIDENT MILLS, HIGH COST OF LIVING in transportation, utilities, housing, education, health among others will be discussed. The Electoral Commission should understand that human beings cannot suppress the spirit of a willing people. This is replete in the history of mankind.
The NDC has been in power for EIGHT YEARS; this has been the tradition in the country since the beginning of the Fourth Republican Constitution. President Mahama stood on the ticket of the NDC but not as an independent candidate. He campaigned on the Manifesto of the party; their so called Social Democratic Ideology. It has been the same grouping of people;AsieduNketiah, Kofi Adams, KokuAnyidoho and all the others. In view of this the NDC has exhausted the full tenure of their bite and should be voted out for fresh and new ideas to manage the country.
One cannot also discount the fact that John Mahama was the De Facto President when Professor Mills was around because we all knew President Mills was not medically fit and John Mahama was running the show. This was one of the reasons the people of Ghana endorsed him after getting rid of his boss (this was not known to us at the time). Even if he says he was not fully in charge he had the chance in 2012 to show his capability and he has brought untold hardship on us.
A person like Koku Anyidoho should be told he is not a man by his ranting. If he is, the security support he is getting should be put away and we shall know who the real men are. I was born and bred in Nima in the late sixties and I have seen vandalism in its worst and full form. Education has refined some us and he cannot intimidate anybody with those coward conducts.

That was why in 2012, they prevented the press from voting early so they will not be available to report fraudulent activities. Just this month EC and Ministry of Interior were speaking differently. Last week, EC's main aim was a logo not credibility. I could go on, but fact is EC decides, period.
