NPP's headache is their leader Nana Akufo Addo who has already committed enough fatal errors as if his goal is to lose again. How can someone who wants to win do the following:
1. He looks on unconcerned for their party's vice chairman to overthrow their democratically elected chairman and general secretary. If you imagine that this was what led to the acid bombing resulting in the death of a regional chairman, then it is serious.
2. He pursues his agenda to become president without their party's democratically elected officials. Obviously, these sidelined officials will definitely have no role to play in Akufo's government should he become president. In fact there are several core members of the NPP who have been effectively excluded from the NPP train for reasons only he knows. Akufo's campaign will surely not be an all-hands-on-deck effort for their party.
3. He refers to some of the voters as aliens whose names should be expunged from the voters register.
4. He looks on unconcerned when senior members of their party classify several geograhical blocks in Gana as inferior and not fit to be at the helm of affairs in Ghana.
5. He believes that by just compiling a new voters register, he will win the election - this is myopic. This belief is coming after he had made his die-hard supporters to believe that, he had actually won the 2012 election but was cheated by the EC and the Supreme Court.
6. He has a strategy that promotes militancy among his suppoters. With a militant posture, he deludes himself that he can litigate his way to become the president.
7. He is too old. In the heat of the campaign, his energy will fail him- December 2016 is over one year ahead.
8. He wants the world to believe that President Mahama, his main challenger, has not done anything good or all that he has done are useless. On the contrary, all over the country the people are seeing development projects that are impacting positively on their lives.
