Politicians in Ghana, especially the NDC and NPP, have made politics so ugly that, brainy citizens fear to dialogue with national governance issues. This is an orchestrated plan to keep capable people out of politics or governance so that they will have the field day to steal from the national coffers.
Mensah Otable (one of my mentors), I must admit have been extremely one sided and tried to read politics into every biblical passage and sermons. But does it mean that he cannot speak the truth? Truth is truth even if it come from Satan.
Let's believe that Pastor Otabil is an NPP. Does it mean that he cannot stand openly and criticize his own party? By the way, as a Ghanaian do I care about Otabils party affiliation to agree with him that the two party's, NDC and NPP, have failed Ghanaians? A truth which die hard party members know and they shy away from. Why they do only God knows. So what is wrong Rev. Otabil realizing his own mistake and that of the millions who vote NDC and NPP and try to review their parties performance and go to the polls with informed minds to cast votes based on issues and performance and not based on vague promises even a class one chap knows they cannot be achieved.
A Pastor in the US can openly declare his party affiliation and still criticize his party policies in public. I know a pastor who is a republican openly telling his congregation he will vote democrat for ABCD reasons. Why can't our pastors do same in Ghana.
