When Kwaku Baako informed us about the atrocities of Kwesi Pratt during PNDC Regime, some of us did not believe until the truth was confirmed during the NRC. Kwesi Pratt is the most dangerous Journalist Ghana had ever have, he had the gut to recommend his fellow journalists to be executed by PNDC. Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwesi Pratt can do. Now Pratt is a secret agent to NDC and US Embassy in Ghana. May God forgive Pratt and spare him the untold evils that will come upon him and his generations. The souls of those journalist killed through Pratt's recommendations to PNDC will never forgive Pratt. Now Pratt has the guts to take Diplomatic Passport and smuggled his weak-headed children to work at the Ministries under Mills NDC, may God forgive Pratt and his dependance and spare them of the evils ahead of them...

Government officials, ghost names, government entourage, presidential assistants etc etc are all a BIG drain on the economy. Ghana is just 25 million, and we have all these unnecessary positions created to DRAIN the economy. What sense does it make when we waste our money, then go to these borrowing organizations to borrow money with interest. Does this even make sense to any individual? The President for once has to sit down and cut down the size of all these unnecessary positions created for hangers on! Ghana has the money to re-build our schools, hospitals and restore our infrastructure if we will be responsible in stopping the leaks.

Sometimes I get this unusual idiotic and self-serving mumbo jumbo from people I thought were smart or knew better on some issues. If Bagbin If Bagbin ctuallywants "decentralization in Ghana”, then his ass should be calling FIRST, for the ELECTION of MDCEs and not by remote control foolish APPOINTMENTS from Accra.
Secondly, the municipal and district assemblies should be made to intensify the management of their finances—revenue generation and expenditures. The reason why Accra will continue to RULE the regions and districts is simple: The regions and districts, unlike those in the developed world, CANNOT RAISE ENOUGH FUNDS and neither do they have the PERSONNEL EXPERTISE to govern themselves and that's why most African countries have "heavy-handed" central governments.
So, making constituencies smaller for our many DO-NOTHING MPs, is not the answer but rather the same GIMMIC that MPs have always played with VEHICLES, more SALARIES & BENEFITS and when they get them, they barely go to their constituencies, but stay kool in Accra and get their damn groove on!! So, Mr. Bagbin and his supporters are damn wrong and Mr. Kyyei Mensah Bonsu is dead right. Just check this out:
The United States of America has a population of about 350 million by the 2010 census, with current annual budgets running in “trillions of dollars”, BUT STILL MAINTAINS the 435 members of the House (lower house) and 100 Senators for the upper House. But, do you know how long these two numbers: 435 & 100 been around as the hallmark of American legislative history? America just "re-organizes or re-draws” the constituency borders to accommodate new populations and maintains the legendary magic numbers of 435 & 100—eventhough America has TRILLIONS of dollars to pay for any extras.
Ghana, on the other hand, a poor, a certified professional international beggar and development partners-backed budgets, wants to increase constituencies upon every 10-year census results? That’s monumentally insane and doesn’t make any economic sense for the country’s situation. The EC should be empowered to just change population numbers from say 100,000 per constituency to say 150,000 and that solves the problem kool, Negro!!
Because of our BAD Economic and Technological backwardness, Ghana seriously needs "QUALITY OF PEOPLE AND NOT QUANTITY OF BONE- and KNUCLKE HEAD NEGROES, who’re always messing up things, instead of solving problems. Ghana should cut her mini coat according to her size.

The number of MPS are too much for Ghana's economy to maintain. The unfortunate thing is that most of these mps do not add any value to the development of Ghana's democracy or economy. Their presence is null and void in the house. Let us reduce the number of mps to the 200, number of districts to 15, abolish the Council of State and introduce 30 member Senate. The Ministers should be cut to a maximum of 20. There is no need for a deputy minister. ( Currently they are shallow minded foot soldier human beings like Yamin, Okujeto Ablakwah etc). We need to be serious with governance. It should be separated from party fantism as it is today. This will be effective, manageable and efficient to take the country forward.

Of course all right thinking people know that you will contradict what the Minority leader has said with regard to the number of MPs. You are among those who are scheming to rape mother Ghana. Ghana does not need more than 200 MPs. In fact the ideal number should be 120. Even the United States with their wealth, power and size has 435 members in their house of representatives and 100 senators. Ghana does not need a large number of MPs some of whom contribute nothing except to loot the resources of the nation. Bagbin wise up and know that it not the number but the quality that counts.

Ghana to export electricity to Nigeria

Ghana is planning to export thousands of megawatts of electricity to Nigeria, Ivory Coast and other neighbouring countries that have power deficit.
The Ghanaian President, Mr. John Mahama, who made the disclosure at the Africa Global Business and Economic Forum in Dubai on Wednesday, said his government had made huge investments in power generation that would enable the country to export excess electricity to Nigeria and others.
“We have given priority to electricity generation in our country. We have prioritised energy in such a way that we want to become the hub for power production in West Africa. We want to generate electricity to the point that excess power can be exported to Nigeria, Ivory Coast and other countries that have power deficit,” he said.
To achieve this dream, Mahama said his country had secured export-import financing from China as well as special funds from Abu Dhabi to commence series of power generation projects, adding that a third hydropower dam project was already at an advanced stage.
The Ghanaian leader spoke in a panel discussion along with President Paul Kagame of Rwanda and President Mulatu Wirtu of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
Mahama added, “Where Africa faces some of its challenges lies its biggest opportunities. We are leveraging on public-private sector partnership to build infrastructure. Be it roads, electricity, ports or communication systems; if we create the right environment, investors will come.
“Creating the right environment that will attract foreign direct investment is key.”
In achieving this, the Ghanaian leader joined Kagame and Wirtu to emphasise the need for African governments to strengthen anti-corruption agencies in their various countries.
“Issues of accountability and transparency are very important. There must be mechanism to fight corruption. We all have institutions but the major thing is resourcing them to effectively fight corruption and perform effectively,” he noted.
According to Kagame, African governments must create a system that is not sympathetic to corruption, saying this would help drive the required Foreign Direct Investment into the continent.
He said, “It is one thing to have the institutions; it is another thing to allow them to work. Governance and structure must be in place to make them to work,” he said.
“African governments must fix infrastructure, investment in development of education and skills, and also enhance connectivity among African countries.” – Punch.

Master Kanewu, you have taken the thoughts out of my mind! Thanks. Why not folks? Why should someone enter Parliament and stay there until 'Osu Cemetery'? They perfect the art of lying to the constituents the more they stay there. Please, don't give me the pedantic argument of Democracy! We have to shape it our own way like it is done even in the so-called 'free, modern, liberal, developed, wealthy' West. Check the practice of democracy in the Switzerland, for example, with the rest of the Western World. There are differences. You see, the UK and Germany are finding ways to cap immigration from the EU even though free movement and working in any part of the EU by anyone from a member country is part of the Core Statutes! Why can't we think of reshaping these inherited ideas TO SUIT OUR OWN CONTEXT FOR OUR OWN SAKE!? In the Western world, which we often cite as our ideal, they operate on 'National Interest First'. See how the UN Security Council operates! Let's put our mind to it. It can and should be done!
