We Ghanaians have this obtuse obsession of Gov't to our own detriment.Somehow,we've come to define our Government's functionality paternalistically,thus giving our national looters fertile grounds to conduct their sham schemes to divert our scant resources into their respective pockets.
When a building colapses on us,we look up to the Gov't to take care of us,when our marketplace burns down,we demand our Gov't to set up a fund to alleviate our losses,when we are involved in road accidents,we expect our Gov't to come to our aid.The lists of outrageous expectations and unwarranted dependence just strings along unabated.Unfortunately,those who are hell-bent on exploiting our unrealistic and insatiable appetite of our dependency mindset,a la Vicky Hammer,enrich themselves as they throw bones at our ridiculous expectations.
How about making it a requisite in obtaining a permit to use our market stalls to show proof of insurance of theft and fire,huh? What a concept? How about going after those who own a collapsed building to demand compensation for both physical and psychological injuries,huh? Instead of placing that responsibility on "our father,the President"
For over half a century,we have consistently heaped our expectations on our elected officials and they,in turn,have exploited us through that dependency mindset all to our detriment.WHY DON'T WE ASCRIBE TO DIFFERENT PRESCRIPTIONS TO EXACT DIFFERENT RESOLUTIONS TO OUR SEEMINGLY UNENDING PROBLEMS.OH,HERE'S AN IDEA:LIMITED GOVERNMENT,FOLKS!!!
LET'S TAKE OUR DESTINIES INTO OUR OWN HANDS AND SEE IF WE'LL BE BETTER OFF.

this is a useless statement. evrybody deserves better. modernize farming and they can also put on your white hat and even sit at their office and posture more handsomely than you. farming is the oldest profession and years of experience to emulate. go and give them all what you have as an example of appreciation. what will become of their is no political decision. most of us in diaspora are from farmers' houses. leave the farmers alone in providing their basic needs.
