Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwesi Pratt can do. It is simply power arrogance and a misguided, display of presumed autocratic powers on the part of President Mahama to continue to try to impose rejected candidates on district assemblies and municipalities. Good sense, borne out of the democratic pathos, esp. grassroots democracy and respect for the wishes of the mass of the people, entail that anyone rejected at least twice must be dropped. But President Mahama has been erroneously advised by the political harks around him that such politically unpopular persons should be re-nominated and the assembly men and women cajoled and arm-twisted until they vote for the unpopular candidate. There are too many of such scenes in the country.
Mills, to the chagrin of some of us, ordered that NPP appointed DCEs and MCEs should stay at post. Even when one in the W/R deserted the post and was making embarrassing noise that the govt should appoint someone to replace him, all we got was lukewarm silence and ineptitude from the Mills team. It therefore took a long time for Mills to get appointees in place. President Mahama has no such handicap, the NDC having been in power for the past 4 years and should have a team of capable persons to appoint, if some incumbents need replacing. What we are getting is even more pathetic than what happened under Mills!
Shame upon them! It is not democratic to try to impose an unpopular candidate on a people. Even Prime Ministers resign or are removed when there is a vote of no confidence in them by colleagues.

To add insult to injury, he is telling us that, like a car, he is only in the first gear in a four-year term, so we can expect to see a fourth gear only in the fourth year. To hear that allegory from a guy and a president who had been a vice-president for the previous four years, and claims that because of the ill-health of Atta Mess, he John Mahama was really the one in charge behind the scenes, then we have reasons to conclude nothing good or extraordinary can be expected that is different from what we have seen from the last four years. The value is going to be the same, and corruption is going to consume all of us under Mahama. Our people tell us, 'Edwa beso'a efiri anopa', to wit, one can gauge the prospects of a good market day from the signs the morning activities project. Right now the country is sinking fast from all reliable indicators. In the last four years, the cedi has depreciated a whole 100 percent under Mahama and Atta Mess. What other assurances are we waiting for? To be hit on the head with bricks?
Look, John Mahama is not cut for prime time, he does not know how, and all his protestations are excuses to cover incompetence and corruption in high places, of which him and his party are direct beneficiaries. What the fuck is Ede be keke? Nonsense!

The president should not force Mr Samuel Asamoah on the people. This is no politics. Theey say he can not perform or he doesn't have the qualification to be a chief executive. The standing order states clearly that the president shall nominate someone for the DCE position and that person must acquire 2/3 of the confirmation votes. If that person fails to get 50% of the votes cast, he must be redrawn by the president and another person be nominated.But this disgraced president continue to impose his favorites to the assemblies which is wrong.he has done this in almost all the assemblies including kwabre east.
