One issue that is bothering my mind has to do with the statement by many Ghanaians that, a wide ranging reforms would be introduced into our electoral systems to perfect the process of electing leaders in the country in the subsequent elections, courtesy the 2012 election petition.
Are those making such statements analyzing what they are saying? If, it is anything to go by, then, it simply means, there were flaws in the 2012 general elections that would bring about those reforms. If there were anomalies, then the whole process must be thrown overboard. It is in this vain, that, I would be shocked should the final verdict throws away the petition by the opposition party and yet we go ahead as a nation to introduce new measures into our elections. I think, those anomalies are the very issues that the petitioners were contesting.Peace is never given on a silver platter, it always has to match with justice. We cannot use the petition to reform our electoral system and yet say the petition has no merit. Even, in a town where everyone is a fool, one of them would definatelly be wise here.
