This is just another waste of time!As a so-called sociologist,he sent Nigerians, who had been in Ghana for more than a century, packing because, in his myopic thinking, they were the cause of our economic woes! How can such a person be celebrated? Can you show us a single edifice he consructed for Ghana?Wasn`t he the leader of the delegation to london, appealing to the British Gov`t not to grant Ghana independence? We don`t need such a traitor!Use the resources you have to help the poor and the needy in our soceity!Acheampong was right to overthrow him!Ankrah and Afrifa made it possible for him to win the elections because the CPP was banned!Let us always tell the truth!Ghana, according to him, wasn`t fit for independence but after independence and overthrow of Nkrumah,he was helped by the NLC to become the PM of independent Ghana!Do we have to waste our time on such a person?Celebrate what?

He claimed ownership of the 1966 coup, and was awarded the presidency by K.A.Afrifa where he supposedly won 104 seats out of 105. He deported Nigerians yet supported apartheid, contributing enormously to Mandela's ordeal. He paid himself his full four year income before he was overthrown. Good Ghanaians deserve a refund not this reality nonsense being visited upon them. Like vice president Arkaah he was slapped by Victor Owusu for being a premier moron who could not see beyound the tip of his nose. By the end of his second year as prime minister he had been publicly anathematized as 'stuff and nonsense' He was worse than Prof. Atta Mills.

Let us recount Abrefa's failures: He had Cape Coast University re-take some kind of exams; he deported Nigerian Businessmen/women; he was a British subject(not sure); under his watch we lost Ghana Airways plane (uninsured by R. R. Amponsah); he built public toilets for starving Ghanaians; the worst next to Nana Addo to think of presidency. I hope the NPP will not call for a national holiday or go to the Supreme Court to sue the President. If Gbedemah had won the election, Ghanaians would have forgotten Nkrumah faster because Gbedemah could do better.

If he had got the time to lead the nation every Ghanaian would have been finger printed with a social security number. Our borders would be tightened, Armed robbery would have been rooted out,Brain drain would have stopped because businesses would have been given to Ghanaians and Ghanaians would have become book worms because he was an educator. many of our graduates today can't even read or write. When you speak with them and they tell you the schools they have gone, you wonder why they are still so low. Knowledge is Power and Power is influence. Dr. Busia may your soul rest in peace.

Abrefa did his part just like Nkrumah with the best of motives and I am happy to celebrate him.
The USA, UK etc. take great pride in their past leaders not because they did not have flaws, but because they are points for uniting nations and we must not,in fact, break from our own past cultural attribute of remembering our past great warriors and leaders with fond memories.

The current incompetency exhibited by our university graduates in authority was created by Prof Busia. What at all will make an average university graduate who has been educated as a scholar think his only place after school is the civil or public service even when the professors at such institutions know very well that they don't train their students for the job market. The whole problem started in 1969 when Prof Busia unilaterally sacked 568 competent civil servants, who have been well trained by the colonialists, and replaced them with incompetent university graduates fresh from the classroom. Since then the trend has not changed. If Prof Busia were to be wise enough, as people make us believe, he should have allowed a smooth transition from the old order to the new order and this is the best practice in every civilized society. If this professor, who will not even heed to a court order restraining him is being celebrated as if he is the father of our democracy, then we are in trouble. This is how far our useless university education has brought us.
