On the contrary, there should be a Code of Conduct specifically designed for MPs which must be followed. It will quell the ambiguity inherent in the present arrangement, which is often exploited as it can be interpreted in variety of ways, when dealing with matters concerning conflict of interest. The Code, when established, will help to block off a room for manoeuvre by the offender when an offence is committed and, in effect, save some precious time for the committee dealing with such offence. The specificity of the Code makes an easy interpretation and more effective.
