Who says the fire was an accident? It was carefully planned, designed and meticulously and wickedly executed by NDC ! Why is it markets only? Why is that markets centres get burnt down ONLY when NDC manages to be in the helm of affairs? Then why these market stalls always get into the hands of different people other than the victims who lost everything? Ironically, the 'new' owners most of them', turn out to be NDC sympathizers!

This was true then but it is more true now than ever. The Election Petition stands to remind all of us of the need for us to Unite rather than be torn apart by all the politics and their divisions.

The lands on which Kantamanto market stands is private property. It is not owned by the Gbese stool; it is not Government property; it has not even been legally acquired by Ghana Railways. It was legally purchased from King Tackie Tawiah, the great Ga king, towards the end of the 19th century, and records of this transaction are reposed in the Lands Registry. Ghana Railways communicated to the Annan Mettle family of Accra that they would do the proper consultation if they ever found the need for that piece of land. Indeed, the land on which the railway station stands was acquired from the same Annan Mettle family between 1903 and 1914. Documents relating to this are reposed in the Lands Registry. The A.M.A is therefore advised to do due diligence before wading into the quagmire. The land has not been sold to any market organisation. As for Ghana Railways, their letter to the Annan Mettle family on the status of the land is on record.
