I strongly disagree with the minister, the president may not always be right in his choice even though he has the prerogative. This due to political interferences which may not give him the free hand.

I don't do politics!
I am just a Ghanaian continuous improvement manager who happens to dislike the photo of our President in his office in this article.
Whoever took this photo was most probably trying to potray our current President as hard at work for the people of Ghana, which I too believe he is. I think the job of running a nation is a difficult one.
The picture also shows something to the rest of the world that does not speak well of the highest office in our country.
Behind the president is a clutter of papers, books, pamphlets, photos etc that shows a poor workplace organization.
I can say as a matter of fact, that it could take up to or more that 15-30 minutes to find an important document in the pile when in actual fact it should take less than a minute! The waste of time cost us all extra money to say the least.
It is clear to me that, the people responsible for keeping the President's workplace tidy (including the President himself, I humbly suggest) need to understand and practice a few basic principles about improving the his workplace environment to enable him work more efficiently for us.
The principle, which is simple and requires a common sense approach is called 5S ie (S,S,S,S,S).
5S stands for:
•Sort - the first step in making things cleaned up and organized
•Set In Order - organize, identify and arrange everything in a work area
•Shine - regular cleaning and maintenance
•Standardize - make it easy to maintain - simplify and standardize
•Sustain -maintain what has been accomplished
5S is a basic, fundamental, systematic approach for productivity, quality and safety improvement in all types of business including the business of running a country!
The benefits of 5S are: improved efficiency, service and safety.
There is so much free information on 5S on the internet, so all you need to do is to google "5S"
I'm hoping the next time I see a photo of the President's office, there'll be a reason to smile about it!
