As much as I hate to admit Rawlings was right with his statement. If they have had listen to those who were concern with the president health, he might be alive today...

All of a sudden nonentities want to portray to the world how close they were to the late President.
Those who had to chat with him for one hour everyday, those Deputy Ministers who had to call him every morning before the man could even brush his teeth, and still those who would be called to the Castle by the late President to express his appreciation for job well done after they had gone to insult political opponents in the media on his behalf. Shameless id.iots raising their egos

Please, Ghanaweb, gag this reporter and any such reporters who keep posting this nonsense from Asiedu Nketiah and his propagandists. I must consider this as contempt of court, especially coming from a witness in the court proceddings. His comments could be interpreted as intended to influence the judgement of the panel. Just listen to the person advocating for others to be trained on election laws. Consider this scenario. In my village Mantukwa, my father, my mother, and my two senior sisters were among the 20 peope whose names appeared on the voters register. On election day, my family had travelled out of town to attend a funeral, so they could not vote. At the close of polling later that evening, 19 valid ballots were counted. Asiedu Nketiah is suggesting that lawyers and everyone else should be trained to identify this count as valid because the number of ballots was less than the number of voters in the register!
It was the intention to use such tactics to rig the elections that the EC decided to bloat the electoral register. A typical example is the registration of foreign voters. The EC claimed over 241,000 voters were registered overseas; but when asked to produce the list, the EC brought out 705 names. Even out of this 705 for 241,000 declared, over 50 names were identified as duplicated and twisted. Case die! No further questions!

As I am writing this comment, there is a NDC commentator on Sources Radio trying to justify why a chief and other such dignitaries could be exempt from the biometric registration without violating the No Verification No Vote mantra. When one listens to such enlightened politicians going round and round in circles, and accusing other people of circumventing the truth, one wonders whither are we going, Ghana?

The few of us who have been put in high positions by the toils of our illiterate benefactors should stop paying these poor folk back with deceit. Some time ago, the churches in Ghana tried their hands at a Unigov form of churches. At a forum discussing the issue, one prominent panel member was posed this question: "Sir, the proposed new name of this union church is Church of God. However, one of the Pentecostal churches already in existence is also called Church of God. How would our illiterate parents differentiate between these two churches of God?" The answer was: "The one is called Church of God in Ghana, and ours will be called Church of God of Ghana."
The EC's "No Verification, No Vote" declaration meant exactly what it was supposed to mean. The same EC had conducted 5 presidential/ parliamental elections previously, but decided on this occasion to introduce a new dimension of verification, called Biometric Verification. From the instance resources were spent on the new devices, any reference to Verification meant Biometric Verification, and I suppose you did not expect me to lecture you on this before you would understand the issue.
The significance of stressing on verification was bring home the importance of the new devices in the 2012 elections. Anybody who tries to confuse issues, as you attempted in your rejoinder, by claiming that other forms of verification were legal for the elections, such as the EC’s reference to a well know chief or dignitary in society, is complete travesty and dishonest behavior.

The level of terminological exactitude and depth of knowledge General Mosquito exhibited confused the NPP leading council who only likes to ask of mechanistic functioning of Biometric verification Machines. He should prove their allegations how they "think" the EC and NDC rigged the elections before their unattractive and lilliputian presidential candidate flopped great time. You can't "allow" some segments of the Ghanaian masses be beaten and even killed and underrate some as sub human beings and at the same way hallucinate that same people you don't care about should vote for you at the polls??? NPP should get real!!!!! How can you exalt yourselves, "Yen Akanfuor", We are the "Democrats" funnily said to cajole the Ghanaians, what happened to Wereko Brobbey and Arthur Kennedy for saying nothing, but truth in either critical analysis and in the latter's famous book, How the elephants run into the bush!!!! Since our independence, no Ghanaian President has ever been elected at the courst before!!! The masses of our people know how to recruit or elect their noble leaders by the process of election through the polls!!! God save Ghana!!!!!!!!!!!

Not only lawyers but politicians and all who show interest in election results must receive some training in our electoral system.
All that it takes to have a near perfect election in Ghana is for all the players to play their roles as expected. There is no way an error that can adversely affect the fortunes of a candidate can go unnoticed and uncorrected if the candidate's agents are vigilant. This is mainly because, counting and declaration of results are done publicly at the polling centres. What this means is that, it is at the polling stations or collating centres or constituency centres or the strong room that petitions or protests must be raised for remedy by those who are there and played a role in the election. When those who were not there like Bawumia, after knowing that they have lost, bring a petition, it is just an effort not to accept defeat.
Had the NPP had full grasp of the election process, their petition would not have been. Take serial numbers of ballot papers for instance. the serial numbers on the ballot papers are not unique for each polling centre but the NPP believes every polling centre ought to have a unique serial number hence the absence of this means "rigging". The serial numbers are of use in the sense that as the booklets are issued to polling stations, the first and last serial numbers of each ballot are recorded for ballot paper accounting. Thus the number of ballot papers issued can be counter-checked from the serial numbers.
I strongly believe that, our electoral system is near perfect and this can be guaranteed if all the players play their roles well.
