I agree perfectly with you that NPP has no moral right to demand accountability from Ablakwa when their own Ken Ofori-Atta is hiding in the US and refusing to come and account for his nearly 8 years as a Finance Minister. But we need to know what the government is doing Ken Ofori Ata extradicted to answer charges of financial malfeasance. The failure on the part of the government to have him brought back and the slow pace of corruption cases involving former appointees is what is emboldening the NPP and their criminal cartel to continue to demonstrate.
The AG used to provide updates on oral cases, but over the past months, there haven't been any updates on these oral cases. NDC must remember that many people voted for the party in 2024 because of the promise to prosecute all corrupt appointees of the former administration. Till date, apart from Wontumi, not a fly has been convicted. Yes, we understand that a number of these cases are in court, but the slow pace at which some of these cases are being handled is raising public anxiety over whether the government truly mean well in fighting corruption.
We also don't agree with that so-called plea bargain thing that is going on behind closed doors. The fact that an alleged criminal has entered a plea bargain to restitute what he/she stole should not mean that the person should be let off the hook. He/she still needs to be punished to serve as a deterrent to those who are seeking any opportunity to steal.
Why are the tribunals not working to fast-track some of these high-profile corruption cases? These cases should be made to travel beyond six months, maximally, 1 year; these cases should be determined. We are sick and tired of these corrupt politicians. The previous administration did worse, and we still see most of these corrupt personnel working freely.

For those of us floating voters, we look up to the day when politicians do not become rich overnight. That is why we are disappointed when Collins Dauda and others were freed of charges. Sedinam was tried in absentsia but freed on arrival. So it means every government decides what it does with its prisoner. I would prefer to see the charges against Ken even as he has refused to come down. As my NPP friend will argue, they have searched his house, they have assess to his office files so the charges can be named. NPP believe that the method is to arrest him at the airport, cuff him and post pictures on front pages that a thief has been arrested. Then they put up bail that cannot be met. Then after 3 weeks, bail is reduced and they now look for charges. NPP, by this will not force to bring him. NDC should note that current scandals and how they handle them have made people lose trust in them.
