Kojo Bamba, has become a major talking point following his election as the First National Vice Chairman at the party’s National Delegates Conference in Kumasi on October 3, 2026.

He secured 3,116 votes to defeat several contenders, including Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B.

His election has drawn attention to his political journey particularly because of his background as an auto mechanic and organising members of the pro-NPP group Delta Force and grassroots political organiser.

But who is Kojo Bamba and how did he rise from grass roots activism to occupying a senior position within the party’s national leadership.

Early life and association with Delta Force

His official name is Kojo Fosu Boadu. He was born in the Ashanti Region in the late 1980s. He reportedly worked as an auto mechanic before venturing into politics.

His nickname, “Bamba”, is linked to his association with a group of young NPP activists known as the “Bamba Boys”, who were mentored by former Wenchi East Member of Parliament, Alhaji Moctar Musah Bamba.

The nickname subsequently became the name by which he was widely recognised in political circles.

Association with Delta Force

He became known within NPP circles through his association with Delta Force, a group aligned with the party that was active in the Ashanti Region.

In March 2017, members of the group stormed the office of Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator George Adjei amid opposition to his appointment.

Boadu was subsequently arrested by the police in connection with the incident.

The incident attracted national attention and raised concerns about political vigilantism and the activities of groups associated with political parties.

Some Delta Force members were later convicted and fined over their actions. The precise charges and court outcomes relating to individual members should be confirmed before publication.

Transition into formal party structures

Boadu’s subsequent involvement in the NPP’s formal structures marked a shift in his political career.

In 2018, he was appointed Deputy National Director of Operations of the party’s youth wing, giving him a role within the NPP’s organisational framework.

His progression from grassroots political organisation to a national executive position reflects his continued involvement in the party’s activities.
