The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has set a filing fee of GH¢5,000 for aspirants seeking to become constituency chairpersons, the highest charge among the party’s constituency executive positions.

The party has also fixed filing fees ranging from GH¢500 to GH¢3,000 for other positions as it prepares to elect new constituency executives across the country.

According to the approved fee structure, aspirants contesting for the positions of Vice Chairman, Secretary and Organiser will each pay GH¢3,000, while those seeking to become Communication Officers will pay GH¢2,500.

Candidates vying for the positions of Treasurer, Zongo Caucus Coordinator, Youth Organiser and Women’s Organiser will each pay GH¢1,500.

Meanwhile, aspirants for Deputy Secretary, Deputy Treasurer, Deputy Communication Officer, Deputy Youth Organiser, Deputy Women’s Organiser and other youth representative positions will pay GH¢1,000 each.

The filing fee for the eight other executive member positions has been fixed at GH¢500 each.

In addition to the filing fees, aspirants are required to pay GH¢200 to obtain nomination forms, according to the party’s announced arrangements.

The NDC has also introduced concessions for female aspirants and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), who are entitled to a 50 per cent reduction in the approved filing fees. The special provision for women’s organiser positions has an exception, although a separate report indicates that female aspirants with disabilities will still benefit from the discount when contesting those positions.

The fee structure forms part of preparations for the party’s 2026 constituency executive elections, which will determine the next set of officers responsible for managing its structures at the grassroots level.
