Political Scientist at the University of Ghana, Dr Joshua Zaato, has stated that Ghana would be in safe hands if former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia becomes president.

Speaking on the AM Show on JoyNews, Dr Zaato said Bawumia has demonstrated strong leadership qualities and a clear understanding of the country’s challenges.

“The question is an emphatic yes,” he said when asked about Bawumia’s chances. “If today the people of this country make Dr Bawumia president, Ghana will be safe, Ghana will be secure, Ghana will be prosperous.”

He added that apart from President John Dramani Mahama, no politician in the NPP currently matches Bawumia’s level of experience.

“He knows this stuff. He has what it takes to do this job,” Dr Zaato stated.

The political scientist also praised Bawumia’s role in government policy formulation, saying Ghanaians would eventually reward him for his contributions to national development.

“He will lead us to the promised land,” he added.
