Two people have reportedly been stabbed after violence broke out during the NPP’s Tepa Akwasiase Zongo polling station election at the Ahafo Ano North Constituency in the Ashanti Region.
The chaos erupted amid claims of manipulation, intimidation, and breaches of electoral procedures, adomonline.com reported on May 13, 2026.
"Machete wielding men engaged in the fierce confrontation, while warning shots were allegedly fired to disperse agitated party supporters," an eyewitness recounted.

Some aggrieved members accused MP for the area, Nana Agyemang Prempeh, of allegedly manipulating the electoral album to ensure only his supporters voted.
The members have since called on national, regional, and constituency NPP leadership to "intervene and restore calm and credibility".
They want the elections suspended until concerns over transparency and fairness are addressed.
They alleged that "electoral guidelines were flouted, the official voter album was not properly used, and nursing training students and Tepa SHS students were allowed to vote without proper verification."
The group warned the developments could damage the party’s image and weaken grassroots confidence if not resolved quickly.
They urged executives and the MP to stop using “macho men” to intimidate party faithful.
Security has reportedly been heightened in parts of Tepa as tensions among supporters remained high.
