Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, has declared his unwavering confidence in securing the Ashanti Regional Chairmanship of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming internal elections.
Speaking on Sunday, May 10, 2026, during a Mother’s Day celebration at the Heaven Seekers Ministry in Atonsu Dompoase, the aspiring chairman cited his extensive track record and service to the region as the foundation for his optimism.
The Countdown to August 8:
Addressing the congregation, COKA provided a specific timeline for his projected victory, linking his success to both his hard work and his faith.
"I can’t come here without asking for prayers. Come August 8, 2026, we are going to hold our Regional elections. I have done a lot of work and I have trust in God. I believe that on that day, latest by 6:00 PM, I am going to be the next Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman," he stated.
A Vision for Unity and Integrity
COKA emphasised that his bid is rooted in the need to strengthen the party's foundation ahead of the 2028 general elections. His leadership pillars include:
Unity: Healing internal divisions to ensure a formidable front.
Dedication: Committed service to the grassroots.
Integrity: Leading with transparency and accountability.
A Call to Action Against Galamsey
Beyond party politics, COKA took a firm stance on the devastating impact of illegal mining, or galamsey, describing it as an existential threat to the nation that transcends political affiliations.
"Galamsey is not about NPP or NDC; it is about Ghana," he warned. "It is destroying our lands and our people. We cannot sit unconcerned. This is a call for both action and prayers."
As the August 8 polls approach, COKA’s campaign continues to gain momentum, positioned on a dual platform of political revitalization and national environmental advocacy.
