My child asked me if I have offended Mahama, NDC - Gabby Asumin cries neglect from his party

Veteran National Democratic Congress (NDC) communicator, Gabby Asumin, has voiced his frustration over what he describes as neglect by his party and the current government led by President John Dramani Mahama.

Speaking in an interview on Adom FM, excerpts shared on social media, Asumin revealed that despite his long years of service as one of the senior-most communicators of the NDC, he has been sidelined both during opposition and now in government.

“Before the government lost in 2016, I was sacked because I spoke for the NDC. Till now that our government has come to power, I was hoping to get something to take care of my family, but nothing. I was in opposition with no work, and now that I am in government, still no work,” he lamented.

He recounted how he and others stepped in to fill the communication gap after the likes of Ofosu Ampofo and the late Ama Benyiwa-Doe but despite his dedication, he feels abandoned.

According to Asumin, the neglect has taken a toll on his emotional well-being.

He admitted to moments of despair, even breaking down in tears when his child questioned whether he had offended the NDC or President Mahama to warrant such treatment.

“I feel the emotional torture. Sometimes I cry. One of my children asked me what I have done to the NDC party and the president that they have ignored me. I have served the party for long,” he said.
