In 2024, the NPP government sold cocoa at a world price of ¢9,700, yet shamelessly paid farmers only ¢3,000. That is barely 31% of the value.
Fast forward to 2026: the world cocoa price is around ¢2,900, and the NDC is paying farmers ¢2,500 — over 86% of the world price.
Now do the math.
If the NPP could receive ¢9,700 and still give farmers just ¢3,000, what on earth would they have paid if the price was ¢2,900?
₵900? ₵700? Or nothing at all?
This is the height of hypocrisy.
Same people who short-changed farmers when prices were high are now pretending to care when prices are lower.
Propaganda cannot hide numbers.
