In actual fact the limited 2 term mandate does not make sense. However, at this time in our nation's life when we have all agreed to that status quo, I believe should stick to it, and not attempt to change it when someone is about to exit power. In future and at a more auspicious time when there're no stakes we can bring it up for discussion and a possible amendment of Constitution and legal interpretation. Any move right now to alter the status quo will bring unnecessary tension and the goodwill that JM and the NDC currently enjoys will be eroded. Thank you!

In my opinion, the NDC will be risking if they allow a new face to contest the NPP. Democracy basically is what the people choose for themselves. If a referendum or whatever is called for and the citizens still indicate that they want John Mahama, where will the tension come from.
It is only in principle that we say an elected president is coming to rule for 4yrs, in practice is 2yrs. That's another blind copying from some Western Countries. These countries are called developed countries, no government will come and start to think of how to build roads, hospitals, infrastructure for education and the likes. Our successive governments come to spend money on projects that they cannot complete because of the limited periods. Looking at the 4yrs allowed by the Constitution, 1yr is used to build the government and the last year for campaign and now in practice, 2yrs to rule which cannot be used for anything meaningful aside wasting taxpayers money on unfinished projects.
Maybe in future 7yrs should be considered so that we can have 5yrs to do very meaningful things for our country.
In conclusion, to achieve success with this long period, corruption should be seen as a cancer or be made very unattractive.

If really the aforesaid theorem is tested and proven to be correct, then we can test the law as asserted by the troublesome A Plus. Look, we seek redemption from charlatans who come up with tens of thousands of promises and textbook theories and draw us back billions of years in the continuum field. A collection 'yes' is the answer. Nonetheless, the usual clique and nation-wrecking opposition is there to say 'nay'. But on that day, the 'yes' will have it. Does A-Plus want to tell me there is nobody in NDC or Ghana who can take over From Mr. Mahama. He uses China as an example, does he know how far China could have gone if the did not have this corrupt dictatorial system? The west has become more advanced than China partly because of the influx of Chinese academics to places where they have the freedom to use their knowledge. Any 3rd term attempt will undermine the country's proud democratic credentials and stability.
BTW: I thought Mr. Mahama and Mr. Asiedu Nketia has ruled out a third term for the sake of our democracy and constitution so why are you bringing this up?

Since you went to parliament is this all you can contribute? What good thing has Mahama done in his 12 months to deserve the change of constitution for him to go for third term? Why was Mahama voted out of office in his first term? Ghana is a peaceful country and we want to maintain our democracy and peace. I don’t want to predict what will befall Ghana if the constitution is amended to allow the sitting president to go for a third term. We in the diaspora will pull all our hard earned resources together to reduce Ghana to ashes if Mahama decides to go for a third term. He as president claims he will not go for a third term but signs on the walls point to the fact that there is a proposed amendment to the constitution to allow him to go for a third term. In that sense it is the constitution but not him. The NDC and the constitutional review committee should shelve that proposal to increase the presidential term to three and also increase the number of years per term to five years. I rest my case.
