However, the apology should not have been just about having a wife/sister and not wanting the same words to be used on her/them. Those "controversial remarks" were not only 'insinuative' and generally offensive, but also completely without reasonable/sensible logic, unbecoming of a politician of his 'standing'. A person's seniority in parliament, should not by any reasoable judgement be the yardstick for appointment to any ministerial position. Actually, he must also apologise to the President and Parliament for his conduct on that day.

I however do not think that the NPP is sufficiently equipped nor qualified to understand the harm that Afenyo is causing not only to the NPP but also to the essence of parliamentary practice, general political practice in the public domain and even to the govt and the international image of the entire country and the people of Africa. Personally I even wish and hope that the NPP maintains Afenyo as minority leader because every time he stands up to speak, he educates and encourages many more misplaced NPP members and sympathizers to wake up and realize how very wrong they have been by joining the NPP. So Afenyo, keep on doing what you are doing best. Right-thinking Ghana needs Afenyo to cure this country from the fatal Danquah-Busia plague.

I don't know who has cast a spell on Afenyo Markin making him talk rubbish without thought and later apologises after a 2nd thought or after being prompted. Prof is more senior and work experienced than Zenator. Does Zenator have any medical work experience, the substantive Minister whose main duties are managerial needs an experienced medical doctor to complement his job and Mahama did just that.
