It is about time the competence and relevance of the OSP is critically and dispassionately looked at, vis-a-vis other state investigative and anti-corruption agencies. A total sum of ¢1.084billion has so far been allocated to the OSP, from its inception in 2018 to date in 2025, for its operations. It is however yet, all this while, 8years down the line, to post any significant achievement, according to its own budget documents, posted on the official website of MoF. It has only been able, according to those documents, to secure and renovate an office building, recruit staff, reply to complaints received, engage in some fruitless investigations, engage yet to be successful prosecutions, and the retrieval of a paltry sum of One Million Cedis (¢1,000,000).
