What is actually wrong if Sammy Gyamfi, a public servant gift his own money to someone. What legislation in Ghana prohibits a public servant from giving gifts to personalities of their choice. In my view, Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi has not committed any crime for giving a gift from his own purse. Does the code of ethics or conduct of public servants barred officials from giving gifts out of their own purse?
Mr Gyamfi is a public official and can spend his hard earned money as he pleases without any restrictions.
He cannot resign or be removed from his position. He is not guilty of any wrongdoing and need not have rendered any apologies whatsoever. Should he invite the woman to his bed room before giving her the gift?
