Manasseh, in the domain of real-politik, the fate of a few errant foreigners - in this case, most probably Chinese prison workers in our country, do not and cannot be allowed to constitute an impediment to the multi-trillion dollar bilateral trade possibilities that beckon us on the horizon. Even before arriving to this point, are we pretending to be blind to the fact that the Chinese taking part in the surface mining activities in this country are mere front men of politicians and traditional chiefs? To bypass this obvious fact suggests that you have been afflicted by the street lynch-mob phenomenon of xenophobia - a psychotic hatred of foreigners - Chinese nationals in particular. I strongly doubt that if it were westerners in place of the Chinese, there wouldn't have been a word of disgust.

If the Chinese govt has categorically come out to state that they will dutifully carry out sentences imposed on any Chinese national by a Ghanaian court, if they are returned to China, what then is our worry? Unlike the West, I am sure we can all trust the Chinese authorities to even double or triple whatever punitive measures imposed on Chinese workers by Ghanaian courts. So then, I ask again, what is our worry here? Do we want to feed criminal Chinese miners for several years in our overcrowded prisons which are not even fit to rear pigs in?

Someone should tell president Mahama that not only northerners and ewes voted for him. If care is not taken NHIS will collapse under his watch in no time. Trust in just three months 21 new directors and deputies had been appointed in additional to 35 existing once. This new appointment includes officers with no experience and first degree. CPC Cape Coast alone have 6 directors, CPC Accra office have 8 directors and deputies, CPC Kumasi now have 4 directors etc. the scheme will collapse because of huge wage Bill if the trend of political based appointment and promotions continue before the governing board is formed.
