ruling government knowing very well that when the ruling government is defeated in an election their jobs end. Politicians should stop politicising our security services so that they could be more professional and impartial.

The Security heads serve at the pleasure of the CIC. Donald Trump last month sacked the Pentagon Chiefs at the start of his second term, because they supported inclusivity(for example, Lgbts, women in certain key positions and maybe the Russia/Ukraine war). It is worthy to note, Trump had appointed Gen. CC Brown as the first black Airforce Cmdr who had been promoted by Joe Biden to serve as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of staff in Octlber 2023. Trump fired him for the above reasons stated earlier. Gen. Brown had only served 1yr 4months of his first 4year term. Dampare will be okay as a PHD holder and under 60 years. But it is what it is. If you do not like the system, pass legislature to tie the hands of the president. It is must be bound by law that the president nominates, parliament vets and approves the candidate to serve. Give them maximum, two four terms. Akufo Addo did so many unprecedented bad roles and appointments as president. It's a shame. He will never get a chance like Mahama to redeem his blemished image. Akufo Addo today on record, is the worst and reckless leader Ghana has ever had since the gaining of independence from UK. He is a disgrace to democracy in Ghana.

The truth is that Ghana public institutions are abhorrent of open discipline. The consider it to be disrespectful or arrogant. The prefer to work in imperfect institutions where bosses exercise discretion to grant favours and make exceptions to rules. But because of the general rot, laziness, incompetence and endless internal contest for maximum personal benefits by the generality of personnal in organisations, impatient leaders seeking tangible change have to rely on a team of fellow reformist to pursue their agenda for change, which in turn irritates the reactionary and often mediocre majority. That is why public service and civil service, especially when politicians prefer happy workers to results oriented champions of transformation. In the workplace, this becomes "the dictatorship of the mediocre majority".
