Folks with small minds should check this same Ghanaweb on what Sammy Awuku the former Ghana Lottery Authority has said about this issue. What people were paying on lottery won was not a betting tax. Anyone who won lottery paid tax on the winning bonus. That is different from betting tax. Betting comes under the Gaming Commission which didn’t operationalised the betting tax even though it was passed. Nobody who won betting was taxed so there was no betting tax to be cancelled as was mischievously put out by Ato Forson. That was what the learned former Minister of Finance Dr Amin was explaining. Folks get education and it will help you.
