Yamin is right in his assessment of the ongoing appointment by John Mahama. Personally, I will be disappointed if Yamin and Mustapha Gbande are not given any role deemed highly relevant in the government. They don’t necessarily need to have experience like others, everyone started from somewhere before acquiring the skills and experience that are required. I remember in Kufour’s government he actually appointed our uncle Professor Kasanga from KNUST to the ministry of land and natural resources without any political experience. We are also watching to see what kind of deputies will come out of the upper west region. So far, most of the CEOs and Managing Directors of reputable organizations are gone to other people without a single one of them coming from the upper west region. Mahama should not forget that we also have candidates with PHDs and all the necessary qualifications to run these organizations. Mahama must also know that not all the so called experienced professionals can deliver good results. We are all watching with keen interest from afar and we will start attacking like we did to Akufo Addo if things are not fairly done. I hope Mahama will not behave like Akufo addo by just appointing people without regard to regional balance. All the regions have voted 100% for the party.
