There is a reason why he failed several times to be the chairman. The man cannot speak and when he does he sounds less convincing like a chicken in front of lion.   The embarrassing defeat of the NPP cannot be blamed entirely on the lack-lustre performance of the Chairman and the General Secretary. The utterances and behaviour of some regional chairmen, the inability of the President to punish his corrupt appointees and failure of the NEC to quickly work to bring Ken Agyapong to assuage his supporters are all contributing factors. Also, the chieftaincy disputes in Bono Region, especially Sampa, Berekum, Tanoso, Nkoranza negatively impacted the enthusiasm of the NPP supporters. People from that part of the region believed Nana Akuffo Addo and Ken Dapaah gave too much power to Otumfour to cause unnecessary disruptions in the social life of the people by imposing curfew on Sampa. The leadership of the party, together with the Bono parliamentarians all failed to find some kind of resolution to these cultural and tribal issues.
