Most of the conflicts we have in the world are caused by border disputes, politics, racial supremacy and careless statements like yours. Even in the past some wars were due to greed and others due to existential or self defense. And if you want us to dig down we can find in history which of the wars were for greed and colonial control and those which were perpetuated by religion and which people did those. By the end of the day you won't be able to absolve your religion of violence in the past. In a circular state, there's no place in politics for religion when it comes to electing leaders. We shouldn't be looking at competence. If the framers of our constitution which we all accept wish so, they would include a clause that the president must be from the religious majority. If it has been a coincidence that our presidents have come from a particular perfect religion since independence, then why are struggling with corruption, underdevelopment, inequality, armed rubbery, debt etc which religion doesn't sanction? "Emancipate yourself from mental slavery". Read and don't be brainwashed!

Ironically, the Muslim anti-Christ or dajjal, as they call him, will in the end time play the role of the biblical Christ (ie. from Islamic scriptural exegesis). Therefore, playing the Islamic card for votes in a Christian majority democracy will backfire because no Christian hope to see Islam become great and powerful just as Muslims do not wish same for Christians.
