I don't share in Yayra's remarks and concern about the Chinese govt. mounting a surveillance of Ghanaians, if indeed the system was bought and hosted in China; unlike the claims made by Bawumia that the system was developed in Ghana. This must be verified, as, indeed, they're serious allegations.
However, he should have limited his concern to any porousness he detected in the system which can make it possible for hackers to hack into peoples' accounts, etc., and steal their monies or identity. ID theft is a major problem in Internet scams. These are very much legitimate concerns and must be addressed. I'm disappointed that he mixed politics into this, and betrayed his rather petty bourgeois mentality as a member of a party with social democratic pretensions. Reps of Uncle Sam should be expressing such views about the Chinese, even though it's no longer Chairman Mao's China we're dealing with.
Having said that, I find it rather odious the insults some NPP bigots are directing at him because he is an Ewe. He raised legitimate concerns as an ICT specialist which deserve to be taken seriously. Jejune ethnocentric insults by elements of no consequence are simply hot air.

There are many Open Source software out there running our Servers, clients, CCTVs, etc. so are we to say that all Open Source software are a no no? Proprietary software is no guarantee that it cannot be hacked into. So, I recommend that we do our due diligence as expects to not run down efforts by whoever is in power that is trying to move Ghana forward. I rather we use our expertise to help in a positive manner. We can recommend that the application be secured using secure protocols, asking for strong passwords usage, automatic login timeout, use secure databases, etc. Thank you.
