Leave Bawumia out of this he will give you his running mate in due time. Now, back to the 24-hour economy! I don't understand why the legon lecturers who teach that production is driven by demand, have heedlessly jumped onto the 24-hour bandwagon when the promisers have no clue or not explain how to increase demand. Declaration of 24-hour economy and recruiting people to run three shifts is easy to do. What is no easy is how to manage the payrolls or keep your businesses profitable. At that point the businesses are on their own. No government will serve as their commercial department. Now, have you realized how dumb it is for central government to do a direct 24-hour economy policy implementation? Governments are suppose to create the enabling environment first to create the industries and businesses and drive demand based on which businesses will have to increase their production and by extension the number of working hours and workforce to meet the demand. If I have a product which has high demand, I don't need anybody to tell me to work 24/7 or get engage more hands. Does it make sense? In this regards, 1D1F is a good starting point. Digitalization has changed the way we do businesses and could increase demand. Microeconomics stability is another point government can look at. Everything put together, Bawumia has more vision regarding this than John Dramani. Everyone knows he will crash if he jump head on to implement 24-hour economy. And we know he can't create the enabling environment and implement the policy within the 4 yrs he is asking for. Besides, he was already given more than what he is asking for, but he failed. Ghanaians should spend at least one night and think deeply before voting in December. They shouldn't listen to ananse journalists or academics or the politicians. Think about what the visions Bawumia and John Dramani openly and with sincere love for Ghana and decide who deserves to lead the country.
