Whether SDA or not November 7 is the best date for our elections. It allows EC enough time in the case of a runoff and more time for smooth transition processes. It doesn't make sense to want to conduct election, declare a winner, go through transition process, and innuagurate the president all in one month, especially when there's a runoff. EC is the body mandated to run elections and they are in the best position to know which date works best for them. If there are problems they are the ones to respond in court, NOT the NDC. The same NDC will complain and take them to court if EC follows them and get into a tight situation where they are not able to do their work well.

I personally believe that the December date does not serve us any good with regards to proper transition and handing over especially when the election goes into a run-off. This is why we should consider a date in November for smooth handing over process. We should find a way to stop some major deals or spending to avoid recklessness during the transition period especially when the incumbent
party loses the election.

It’s gonna have to take a legislative instrument of Parliament with a proposal from the electoral commission to be able to effect a change of day of election. So, to threaten that they wouldn’t vote for the NPP if they don’t change the day is utterly ridiculous.
