"Am still contesting to be Constituency Chairman" - Kwakye

Agona Swedru (C/R), Aug 1, GNA - Mr Enoch Kojo Kwakye one of the aspiring Agona West Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has restated his determination to lead the party in the area. He said rumours that he had stepped down were only attempts by his opponents to deter his teeming supporters, he told the GNA on Tuesday at Agona Swedru.

"Agona West has suffered for far too long with violence and litigation derailing development", he stated. Mr Kwakye who is the Managing Director of Agonaman International Construction Company, at Swedru blamed other contestants fearing that he would unite the polling station executives for the rumour and promised to champion the course of peace and development of the party in the area. He congratulated polling station executives for their successes in the recent elections and asked them to remain calm and rally solidly behind him to assume leadership of the NPP in the constituency.

Mr Kwakye asked the delegates to vote for him to bring quality leadership and improvement in party, members and the Agona West. He appealed to the other contestants to conduct their campaign in a decent manner devoid of insults, falsehood and character assassination to ensure a peaceful constituency election in August this year.
