President John Dramani Mahama has returned to Ghana aboard a commercial Emirates Airlines flight following his participation in the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women, held in Beijing, China.
In a video posted by JoyNews on Thursday, October 16, 2025, President Mahama was received by his Vice President, Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, at the Jubilee House.

Additionally, he was greeted and welcomed by his Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, the heads of security services of the army, and other government officials.
The president was also captured in the video receiving briefings from his vice president about the state of the country during his absence.
President Mahama and the First Lady, Lordina Dramani Mahama, departed the country on October 12, 2025, to attend the event hosted by President Xi Jinping and UN Women.
The event brought together world leaders seeking to renew the spirit of the Beijing Declaration and accelerate its implementation.

He also held discussions with his Chinese counterpart, President Xi Jinping, and with the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Li Qiang.
