NPP supporters asked to rally behind Suame MP

Kumasi, Sept 30, GNA – Mr Richard Agyemang, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Suame Constituency Deputy Youth Organizer, has asked party supporters to unite as the NPP party prepared to recapture political power next year.

He appealed to party supporters in the constituency to rally behind the Member of Parliament (MP), Mr Osei-Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, and to make more sacrifices to enable the NPP to win more votes in Election 2012.

Mr Agyeman made the call through GNA in Kumasi amidst criticisms of the MP, who is also the party’s parliamentary candidate for Suame for next year’s parliamentary election, by some party members in the area.

These included criticism that Mr Mensah-Bonsu had served in Parliament for too long and failed to bring more development to the constituency. ` Mr Agyemang asked the party’s loyalists to ignore these comments, which he said were insincere and dishonest.

He said the party had confidence in Mr Mensah-Bonsu and would support him to retain the seat.

Mr Agyeman said the MP had brought progress to the constituency and cited that the MP had initiated measures for the rehabilitation of some roads in the constituency.

These include Suame-Embassy Hotel road, Islamic School-New-Suame road and Socar Gas road, Abusuakruwa-Mpatasie road, Nkontwima-UGC road, Bremag- Kronum-Kwapra and Abuohia-Kyerease-Atafua roads.

Mr Agyeman said that work on school blocks, health facilities, markets, and water and electricity projects have been completed.

Mr Agyeman said that the MP had awarded scholarships to some brilliant but needy students in the constituency
