The National Council of Elders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that its Ad Hoc Committee, tasked with overseeing the conduct of the party’s presidential campaigns, has officially begun its work.
This was contained in a press statement dated Thursday, October 9, 2025.

“The Committee has begun monitoring comments, actions, and public engagements of aspirants and their campaign representatives to ensure a peaceful, respectful, and issue-based campaign in line with the values and traditions of the Party,” the statement said.
It also called on all presidential aspirants, their campaign teams, and party supporters to adhere to the principles of respect, discipline, and issue-based campaigning.

“Accordingly, members of the Party, supporters, and the general public are encouraged that if they come across any utterance, conduct, or social media post by any candidate, spokesperson, or campaign team member that is deemed offensive, divisive, or capable of inciting disunity within the Party, they should promptly refer the matter to the Committee.
“Such referrals should be accompanied by credible evidence and may be made either in writing or through direct communication via phone call or WhatsApp,” it added.
The Council further appealed for discipline, respect, and solidarity across the party, emphasizing that a united NPP is essential for securing victory in the 2028 elections.
“Let us all work together in the spirit of discipline, respect, and solidarity to ensure a peaceful and united NPP ready for victory in 2028,” the National Council of Elders urged.
The party has slated its presidential primary for January 31, 2026.
The five aspirants are Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, Dr Bryan Acheampong, and Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum.
