The Northern Regional Organizer of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Godfred Apesinaba Awumbe has said the achievements of President John Dramani Mahama has helped removed kayayei from the streets completely.

According to him, it is extremely difficult to find kayayei on the streets of Accra, because President Mahama has created more jobs for the youth.

Speaking in an interview with Kwame Tutu on frontline on Rainbow Radio, the umbrella member posited that the services of head potters are scarce on the streets now because majority of these young people, are back in the North working.

He noted, the various modules under the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has created opportunities for their youth who are now engaged in construction, agriculture among other sectors of the economy.

Mr. Awumbe opined that achievements chalked under this current administration is unprecedented and no president under the fourth Republic, can compare their achievements to that of President John Dramani Mahama.

Mr. Godfred Apesinaba Awumbe was confident of a one touch victory for the President and flagbearer of the NDC by 67% because by calculation, what Mr. Mahama has achieved is ‘’unprecedented’’.

He indicated that, the three Northern Regions have had their fair share of the national cake and come November 7, President Mahama’s mandate will be renewed. The NDC activist debunked claims that residents in Tamale have threatened to buy in into the vote for change mantra of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Reports captured by some section of the media has is that, the Gbewa youth in Tamale have crossover to the NPP because they are highly disappointed in the ruling government.

But Mr. Awumbe said, the claims are propaganda since the youth in the region are die hard supporters of the NDC and should anyone cut them with a knife, the blood that will drop will contain the colours of the umbrella party. He added, the President will clock 95% of the votes in the region.

"Let me assure you that John Mahama is going to get 85%-95%; because NPP members in Yendi are defecting to join the NDC and we will ensure that the party wins by a wide margin. The NDC will win 30 out of the 31 seats in the region," he said.
