Lecturer slams Alan’s campaign tactics

A Lecturer at the Ashesi University, Dr. Lloyd Amoah, has slammed flagbearer aspirant of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Alan Kyerematen, for promising party delegates bicycles, phones and other goodies if they elect him as flagbearer at the party’s October 18 congress.

Kyerematen told delegates in the Volta region Thursday, that “this time, if you make Alan your flagbearer, I will ensure that every executive, from polling station to coordinator to constituency will have the means of transport either bicycle or motorbike.

“Your bicycle will be registered in your personal name so that even when you are not an executive you can take it home as your reward for working for the party”.

But Dr. Amoah speaking to Starr News said the clear show of opulence by the former Trades Minister is unacceptable and must not be encouraged by the NPP.

“…When you have a potential flagbearer of a major party, very cleverly attempting to suggest and exploit this impoverishment of our people and saying look if you get into the position then manner is going to flow.

“The particular position that he represents was couched in a very clever way so that on the face of it, if you do a circumstantial analysis it doesn’t come across as trying to induce the voters.

“But it is clear, that he casts himself, he positions himself as some kind of grand Father Christmas who is going to give resources and the condition that would allow this to happen is that delegates in the NPP should cast their vote for him.”
