The National Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Sidii Abubakar Musah said he went through trauma when the party lost the 2016 presidential election to the extent that he could not even erect.

Speaking on Onua FM morning show Yen Nsem Pa hosted by Bright Kwesi Asempa, the NDC scribe said losing to the main opposition in the last elections was not something that he anticipated judging from the projects executed by the erstwhile administration, and therefore suffered lost of erection and emotional feelings for his wife.

“You can call my wife and verify, after the elections I lost erection completely, I am telling you. The loss came to me hard such that even now I’m yet to recover. We have done a lot as a party and government but the elections didn’t go as we expected. I can’t still believe we lost.”

The NDC led by ex-president John Dramani Mahama polled 4,550,116 of the total votes representing 44.04% as against the main contender Nana Akufo-Addo who emerged victor with 5,594,360 votes culminating into 54.14%.

Although some members of the NDC said they have been able to pick themselves up after suffering the worst defeat during the elections, the party’s National Youth Organizer said he is yet to recover from the lost. He lamented that despite all the numerous works executed by the John Dramani Mahama-led administration, the electorate resoundingly rejected the NDC.

He maintained that the campaign field has virtually became his home as he moved about every hamlet both in the north and the south ensuring that the NDC promises and good works of the former president reached everyone. He therefore denied allegations that he did not do enough as a youth leader for the party.

He said “I have spent time and devoted to making sure that the good news reaches every village. I was on the field, I was on top of the youth front and nobody can say I Sidii I didn’t do anything. It was just unfortunate that Ghanaians chose NPP over the NDC and I can tell you we are coming back, I believe that, NDC will be back.

Although I still can’t recover but I am sure we will be back.” The National Youth Organizer also denied reports that he was disrespected and undermined by some who were brought into the campaign by some unseen hands, saying “it was not true that I was disrespected.
We all worked together. I am the youth leader and I played the same role during the elections”

LET US UNITE

Sidii Abubakar Musah has also asked various youth groups in the NDC to put behind them the defeat and unite for victory in 2020. He noted that instead of venting spleen on each other, it will be advisable to direct same energy in ensuring that the party remains united and focused for victory.

“Anger is not what we need now but rather unity, let us calm down, our bitterness will not bring us to power but if we remain resolute and united until next 4 years, we will be back.

We don’t need to attack each other it will end up dividing us”
