The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Communications Director, Paul Kwabena Yandoh, has challenged the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, to withdraw his lawsuit against individuals who have alleged that he is involved in illegal mining (galamsey) and instead use traditional means to clear his name.
According to Paul Yandoh, the only way the public will believe Dr Amoakohene’s innocence is for him to invoke curses to prove that he is not engaged in galamsey.
Speaking in an interview on Oyerepa TV, later shared on social media Yandoh stated, “Do you know Wendell Yeboah, an NDC member, has accused our regional minister, Frank Amoakohene, of being involved in galamsey and his name has been mentioned the same way Wontumi’s name was mentioned?
“As an Ashanti, when such allegations are levelled against you, must you go to court? You must invoke curses to prove your innocence so that all of us will know you are not involved. There is no need for court; it is curses that must prove your innocence.”
He added, “If Frank Amoakohene doesn’t invoke curses, nobody will believe that he is innocent.”
Meanwhile, a lawsuit has been filed by Dr Frank Amoakohene, against Wendell Nana Yaw Yeboah of Democracy Hub, accusing him of defamation over comments made during a live radio interview and subsequently circulated on social media.
The minister has also sued Aluta FM and its presenter, Agyaba Owusu, also known as Agyaba Kwaku.

The suit dated December 4, 2025, and filed by his lawyer, Ibrahim Halidu, stems from comments made on November 18, 2025, during the “Anopa Koko” morning show on Aluta 92.1 FM, a Madina-based station with a sizeable online audience.
According to the court filings, Wendell Yeboah appeared as a guest on the show and “falsely and with malicious intent” alleged that Amoakohene was involved in illegal mining.
TWI NEWS
Yeboah allegedly made the claim in both Twi and English, telling listeners, “Alright, as I speak with you right now, the Ashanti Regional Minister is into galamsey.”
Dr Amoakohene maintains the accusations are baseless and intended to damage his reputation.
