NDC’s General Secretary has disclosed that Former Central Regional Chairman, Allotey Jacobs, could be expelled from the party based on the gravity of his offence.

He said though he is yet to face the party’s disciplinary committee, the level of his offence will determine if he is still fit to be a member of the party.

“The worst of penalties is that he could be expelled from the party. Based on the gravity of his offence he could be asked to leave the party,” Johnson Asiedu Nketia established.

Asiedu Nketia believes Allotey Jacob’s actions are deliberate because he has been cautioned on several occasions by the party Chairman, Mr Ofosu-Ampofo but to no avail.

“Our National Chairman who happens to be a church elder has called him to order on several occasions about the negative implications of his actions to the party but he has refused to listen.”

He said Allotey Jacobs has abused the party’s tolerance level.

“If you look at this situation, this is not the first or second-time Allotey Jacobs has done this to the party. He has been flouting the rules of the party for far too long.”

Background

The opposition National Democratic Congress has suspended its former Central Regional Chairman, Bernard Allotey Jacobs based on what it described as his consistent anti-party conduct.

Allotey was originally representing the opposition NDC until the current Communications officer of the party, Sammy Gyamfi, found it difficult to accommodate his independent view, stripping him of his representation.
